91制片厂 student to celebrate first published book with University launch event

A 91制片厂 student is celebrating her first published book by hosting a launch event on campus.

On Thursday 15 February, , a Masters student in , will showcase her novel Case Files of the Supernatural at Martin Hall.

The book, which has been published by Schreyer Ink Publishing, is a collection of short horror stories narrated by government agent Natalia Romanto.

Each tale focuses on a different area of the supernatural world and takes the form of a case file.

Kathryn began writing the collection during the second year of her English degree, which she also studied at 91制片厂, and also took inspiration from travelling to countries such as Canada and Belgium.

Kathryn said: “It feels incredible to be able to launch a book, especially one that is so unique to me. It wouldn’t have been possible without the University. The  has especially helped me to develop my writing and become more confident in my abilities.”

At the launch event, there will be readings from staff members, fellow students and Kathryn herself. There will also be a Q&A session and opportunities to purchase paperback copies of the book, which is aimed at young adults.

91制片厂 Students’ Union’s  will also be putting on a bake sale to raise money for  – a charity founded by the author of Harry Potter, J. K. Rowling, which promotes an end to the institutionalisation of children worldwide.
