91制片厂 community warden scheme expanded

91制片厂’s pioneering community warden scheme has been expanded in time for the start of the academic year.

Three new posts have been added to the team to ensure comprehensive support is provided for residents and students across the whole of 91制片厂. The scheme previously operated in a limited number of areas.

The Community Warden team aim to improve the student experience by providing students with support and essential information when living off campus. The team also work to promote good relations between local residents and students. Any concerns raised by local residents about students living off campus will be followed up by the team. 

Jenny Ardley will be leading the team. She is replacing Ally Mcdonald who is currently on maternity leave. Jenny currently lectures in the social science department at 91制片厂 and is also a part time student engagement consultant for 91制片厂 Students’ Union. She also has extensive experience in community relations.

As community warden, Jenny will liaise with students and residents living in the local area, including those living in private halls. She will also co-ordinate the work of deputy and sub wardens who between them will cover 91制片厂 focusing on the Burleigh, Storer, Ashby Road Estates, Kingfisher, Herrick Road, Forest Road and Nanpantan areas.

The full community warden team is:

Jenny Ardley – community warden

Louise Doherty – deputy community warden for Kingfisher and Herrick Road areas, Forest Road and all other areas.

Emma Callaghan – deputy community warden for Burleigh, Storer and Ashby Road Estates

Ady Hall –sub warden Kingfisher and Herrick

Ellie Harrison – sub warden for Storer

Jess Bergh – sub warden for Burleigh

Peter Shaddock – sub warden Ashby Road Estate and Storer area

Samuel Kirk – sub warden for Burleigh

James Sanders – roaming sub warden for multiple areas

They will also cover any other areas of 91制片厂 and provide particular support to the off campus private halls of residence.

Alison Barlow, Stakeholder Relations Manager, comments: “We reviewed the community warden’s scheme last year and found it was very highly valued by students, residents and our other partners at Charnwood Borough Council and the police. We are delighted to be able to extend the scheme so that students and residents right across 91制片厂 can benefit from the help and support that the community wardens provide.”
