Throughout the evening, we celebrated doctoral researchers and staff who have made a significant contribution to the University community both academically and through their extra-curricular activities. This year we had just shy of 400 nominations across 15 categories of awards, an incredible achievement.
Chair of the DR Experience Board, Ashley van Bruygom, said “The PhD Awards is always a pleasure to be a part of, celebrating the achievements of so many DRs from all over campus. This year we had the pleasure of welcoming a wide range of guests including Deans, Associate Deans of Research and Innovation and Directors of Doctoral Programmes. The event was a great success, and I’d like to extend my congratulations to all the winners!”
Associate Pro Vice Chancellor (Doctoral College), Prof Steve Christie, added: “The PhD Awards evening was a fantastic event celebrating the achievements of our Doctoral Researchers and staff members over the last year. This was our biggest event yet, with over 100 attendees. The event illustrates how much we value the contribution of students and staff to 91ÖÆƬ³§'s research culture.
I would particularly like to congratulate and celebrate the contribution of Ashley and Kuldeep as the Chair and Vice Chair of the Doctoral Researcher Experience Board this past year. They have been great to work with, and I wish them well as they finish their PhDs in the next few months.”
