Profile

I am a Lecturer in Construction Management at the School of Architecture, Building and Civil Engineering of 91ÖÆƬ³§.

Before joining 91ÖÆƬ³§, I worked at the Engineering Department of the University of Cambridge for five years. I started as a Research Associate in Infrastructure Resilience and Asset Management at the Cambridge Centre for Smart Infrastructure and Construction. I was the lead researcher for the EU-funded research project “SAFEWAY - GIS-based infrastructure management system for optimised response to extreme events on terrestrial transport networks”. During the last two years, I worked as a Senior Research Associate (Research Assistant Professor) at the Civil Engineering Division. I lead the Data Science team of the Digital Roads of the Future initiative. This experience allowed me to collaborate with professionals from National Highways, Costain, and 20 additional construction and consulting companies in the fields of digital twins, smart materials, and robotics to automate highway inspection and maintenance.

I have received a MEng in Civil Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, an MSc, with distinction, in Project and Enterprise Management from University College London (UCL), and a PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Cyprus, in collaboration with the Georgia Institute of Technology and the University of Cambridge. I have, to date, authored more than 35 journal articles, book chapters, and conference publications. I have received multiple grants, scholarships and awards, including the postdoctoral award for research excellence (University of Cambridge) and the Marie Curie scholarship - international research staff exchange scheme.
