Celebrating Teaching Excellence

Teaching excellence 2019

Recently, a group of 50 staff and students from all Schools took part in a workshop focused on the identification of excellence in teaching and the sharing of best practice. Staff and students agreed that excellent teaching is delivered with enthusiasm; is engaging for students; is well designed, structured and organised; and founded on clear communication.

The 91制片厂 Academic Awards evening on 16th May organised by Hannah Barton, Executive Officer for Education in 91制片厂 Students’ Union (LSU), provided an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of both staff and student education volunteers in support of our academic student experience.

Staff who were recognised for their contributions included: (Aeronautical, Automotive, Chemical and Materials Engineering) for Excellence in Teaching, (Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences) for Digital Innovation in Teaching, (Social Sciences) for going the Extra Mile to support students, and (Wolfson) for championing Peer Support and Student Representation respectively, (Science) who won a Special Recognition Award for the work that she does with LSU on peer support and academic misconduct, and (Sport, Exercise and Health Science) was this year’s Unsung Hero for all the work that she does in support of excellence in teaching.

Congratulations to all the award winners. Their distribution shows that teaching excellence exists across the University.
